Those of you lucky enough to have tickets will no doubt be getting very excited about the Midsomer Society’s upcoming convention on the 21 to 23 June in Oxfordshire. This year’s programme includes a Midsomer Murders Quiz Evening as well as a number of location visits throughout the weekend, including Knebworth House and Adwell House.
There’s also going to be a tasty three course dinner at The George in Dorchester on Thames and an optional trip to Oxford. For Midsomer fans who were lucky enough to get tickets it is sure to be a great weekend and a great chance to make some friends. There will even be a chance to hear a talk by Douglas Watkinson, writer of some of our favourite episodes, including Death in Disguise.
For those of you who didn’t quite manage to get a ticket, there is always next year. The convention has run every year since 2008, with the exception of last year. There is also a society trip to Antwerp coming up in October. There you will have the chance to meet Belgian fans of the show and enjoy a delicious lunch. Then in November there is the Society’s annual Christmas lunch.
For serious fans of the show, the Midsomer Society is a great place to share your interest. Of course, if you want to get your own fix of Midsomer, new episodes are being screened throughout the year and there is always the opportunity to visit some of the locations from the show in the Southern Oxfordshire region. There are plenty to choose from and if you’d like a full list, you can find one here.
If you can’t make any of that, then why not treat yourself to a few episodes from a box set this evening and over the next few days? Go on, you know you want to.
